The XANT is a low profile X-Band patch antenna designed for CubeSat missions. It is compatible with the CubeSat standard in terms of height limitations for mounts on the exterior chassis.

The antenna is circularly polarised and ideal for space missions where a high data rate downlink is required.  There are 2 versions available 8-8.2GHz and 8.2-8.4GHz to ensure a sub 3dB axial ration over the entire X-band, with each version available in both LHCP and RHCP.

The antenna RF performance is quite insensitive to the surrounding ground plane which makes its integration a simple process.

Alternative solution for very high data rate links

For more demanding link budgets, a 2×2 patch array (XANT4) is available with 11.5-12dBi of gain and less than 1.5dB axial ratio over the entire band.
